Job Description: Production Designer – Full-Time

Food Marketing Agency located in Downtown St. Louis is looking for a talented Production Designer. 3-5 years of experience in an agency or related professional environment is preferred. The right candidate will be highly proficient with the Adobe Creative Suite, and be able to carry sophisticated concept designs seamlessly through to production. Relevant experience in print design and web design is required. Production tasks may include packaging layout, print advertising, website population, photo editing, print layout, and other design/production tasks as required. Must be able to adhere to style guidelines / art direction and accept and execute upon direction given by Art Directors and Account Executives. Attention to detail, a “good eye” for design layout, and strong typography skills are important to the position.

Responsibilities:

• Must be able to create consistent, high quality, and accurate artwork production files for various media; ensure above meets with print / electronic and client specifications from conception to finishing within established budget.

• Production work on digital imagery that includes cleaning, color correcting, enhancement, clipping, and beyond.

• Perform maintenance related tasks for websites and other related services as specified by internal staff. Knowledge of static/dynamic website architecture is very beneficial.

• Create PDF proofs for submission to clients. Accommodate changes to various artwork as requested.

• Assist in client presentation creation; including screen shots, interface manipulation, infographic creation, printing, and mock-up work.

• Project administration tasks (use of time tracking software, project management system, client notes, meeting sheets, etc…).

• Maintain a shared library of assets that include fonts, images, and other design tools.

• Good project management skills and ability to work on several projects simultaneously while prioritizing appropriately.

• Must be highly motivated, have excellent interpersonal communications skills, and good ability to work as a team.

• Must be detail-oriented and be able to independently evaluate work for accuracy and adherence to established design criteria.

• Must be able to render vector illustrations in multiple styles.

• Archive new and existing client projects, including hard copy and electronic file organization, preparing PDFs for case studies and portfolio use, and completing any paperwork/forms associated with closing and documenting projects.

Experience/Qualifications:
• 3-5 years full time working experience in related field.
• Extensive knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Acrobat.
• Familiarity with Adobe Flash and Dreamweaver, and general web design principles.
• An appreciation of layout and design, typography, and a good understanding of design fundamentals.

Education:
• Minimum Associates in Graphic Design or other design related degree.
• Minimum of 3 years working experience in an agency environment.
• Acceptable grade point average (2.75 or above).

Physical Demands:
• Sit up to 8 hours per day.
• Extensive viewing of computer screen.
• Less than 5% travel.

Work Environment:
• Professional, business setting.
