QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum of a B.A./B.F.A. degree in related field.
• Minimum of two years experience as an art director at an agency or in an internal communications department.
• Proficient with Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign, Flash and an understanding of HTML (Final Cut and AfterFX experience is helpful)
• Ability to direct illustration and photography, able to design for a variety of media, strong knowledge of design, type and web usability.

POSITION SUMMARY

Qualified candidates must possess strong design skills across all advertising/marketing media, including interactive design and online components. Individual must get projects off of the ground, drawing on experience and knowledge to enrich the creative product every step of the way. Must be capable of bringing compelling concepts and designs to the table that are strategically sound and support senior creatives in producing the team’s work.

• Applies promotional strategies and tactics.
• Generates concepts that are stylistically appropriate for a variety of media and targets.
• Presents concepts in an effective manner to the team.
• Produces visual presentation materials.
• Pays attention to detail, order and organization. Meets project deadlines by managing time and priorities; takes responsibility for details and consistency.
• Listens to, acknowledges and responds to others appropriately; presents ideas clearly and persuasively based on solid rationale; confidently asks questions to clarify expectations.
• Seeks unexpected, original and innovative ideas.
• Thinks things through; sorts and processes information to produce relevant work; understands and applies marketing tactics appropriate to client objectives.
• Bounces back from disappointment quickly; maintains balance and flexibility under stress; responds to and uses criticism constructively.
• Keeps abreast of new technology, resources and trends affecting the creative industry and the client’s business and shares this knowledge with the team.
• Looks for ongoing opportunities to grow within the team and the agency alike.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED/GIVEN

The IAD receives formal supervision, developmental guidance, and day-to-day guidance and direction from the IDD.

WORK CONTACTS

The IAD may have occasional contact with clients at concept presentations and creative downloads.
