So, what were you doing last Tuesday? Well, if you weren’t at Avatar Studios, I only have one question. Why not? I know … I know … the thrill of watching Mark Harmon bust another bad guy on NCIS is the highlight of my week, too, but come on. Can NCIS introduce you to industry professionals and help your career? Rebus-1, NCIS-0.
As you might’ve guessed by now, on Tuesday, October 13th, Avatar Studios hosted our October REBUS event. Mark McAlevey, executive producer at Avatar, took us through their award-winning reel and explained the importance of a strong agency/production house relationship. Simply put, the earlier you get the production people involved, the better. Especially with a place like Avatar.
Avatar has just about everything you could want in a production house. Green screen? Check. Seamless white screen? Check. A bunch of cool rooms with all sorts of fancy technology for editing sound, film, special effects and things we didn’t even know existed? Check. Plus, they even keep a bunch of coolers filled with free beer and soda and have tables loaded with delicious food. Of course, that might’ve just been for the REBUS event. Either way … REBUS 2, NCIS-0.
Next stop, Hoffman Lewis on November 10th. My sources there tell me those guys are a lot of fun.
See you there.
